ARC – 2 Hour Guided Kayak Tour at Berg River Dam, Franschhoek

This one is for those who want a little more from their time on the water. The 2 Hour Guided Kayak Tour takes you on a scenic paddle along the Berg River Dam and its surrounds, with one of the most dramatic mountain backdrops in the Franschhoek Valley keeping you company the whole way.

Operated by Best Day Ever and Kayak Adventures at the ARC of Franschhoek, this experience is completely beginner friendly. A professional guide leads the way, all equipment is included, and a basic ability to swim is recommended.

What to Expect

Arrive at the ARC of Franschhoek at the Berg River Dam, where your guide will get you set up and walk you through the safety basics before heading out. From there, you’ll spend 2 hours paddling through some of the most scenic water in the Cape Winelands.

As you glide across the crystal-clear water, you’ll be surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Drakenstein Mountains, Simonsberg, the Wemmershoek Mountains, and the rugged slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains. Along the route, your guide will share interesting insights about the local wildlife, birdlife, and the history of the dam.
