There’s no better way to experience Franschhoek than on an e-bike and with the self-guided option, you get to do it completely on your own terms. Explore the valley at your own pace, stop when something catches your eye, and let the pedal assist take care of the rest.

Pick up your rented bicycle at Franschhoek Rent A Bicycle/Louer un Vèlo, where staff will set you up with your e-bike, adjust your seat post, hand out helmets, and give you a quick orientation so you feel comfortable before setting off.

From there, the adventure is yours. Follow the app along the Scenic Route and take in the best of the Franschhoek Valley vineyards, farm landscapes, historic village streets, and mountain backdrops around every corner. Along the way, you can stop at wine estates for a tasting or a coffee whenever the mood strikes.

Feeling adventurous? The Berg River Valley is accessible as an optional add-on route, where gravel tracks, steeper climbs, and remote scenery well off the beaten path await those who want a little more from their ride.
And while you’re out on your own, support is never far away, staff are on standby and always reachable by phone or WhatsApp should you need anything.This tour is the perfect mix of freedom, scenery, and adventure, a truly memorable way to explore Franschhoek at your own pace.

  • Follow Route to Second Destination

    For those looking for something a little more technical, the Dam Route offers a side of Franschhoek most visitors never get to see. The riding is more demanding, but the reward is worth every pedal stroke, spectacular views and a perspective of the valley that will genuinely surprise you.

  • Making our way back to Start

    Last chance to the best of the view on the bike while we make our back through the historical town. 

  • Final Goodbyes
